Family Class Sponsorship / Family Reunification Program

Several Canadian citizens / permanent residents have their loved ones abroad; whom they wish they could bring to Canada. The Canadian government provides a number of ways to bring your loved once to Canada under its Family Class Sponsorship class.

Family reunification is one of the three pillars of Canada’ immigration program. Canadian immigration policy permits both recent immigrants and long-established Canadians to be reunited with members of their family.

The persons who can be sponsored in the family class include the spouse, common-law partner (including same-sex partner), conjugal partner, dependent children, parents, grand-parents, children adopted from abroad, and other relatives in special circumstances. For parents and grandparents, there is also the Super Visa program.
